Let's Bring Joy to Others on their Birthday
Father Fred Food Pantry provides a Birthday Cake kit to children whose parents are receiving food benefits, and the kits include a box of cake mix, a can of frosting, candles, and an aluminim pan. The kits are packaged individually in bags large enough to fit all the ingredients. The Summer Adventure Campers are coming up to Cooking Week, and this donation drive is their effort to help the hungry in our local area, in a way that is connected to helping other kids and families.
Please consider donating money or supplies to our "Birthday Cake" Donation Drive
Here is a list of the components of the birthday bags:
A box of cake mix
A can of frosting
Candles
An aluminum pan (in which to bake the cake)
A bag (large enough to hold the materials)
You can also donate money directly to the Birthday drive by donating to Advent Lutheran Church with the memo "Birthday Drive" or donate securely online to the Youth Fund which will be used for this youth service project between now and the date of donation (August 2). The money donated will be used to purchase bulk materials for this service project or to balance out the donations into complete kits.
