Our Schedule for Lent and Holy Week
For two thousand years, the Christian community has observed a special season of preparation as Easter approaches. Just as Jesus fasted and prayed for forty days, we take a season to step back from our normal routines, “give up” something that we hold dear, or “take up” a spiritual discipline, all with the goal of emerging changed, and more awakened to God’s presence in our daily lives. Here’s what we have planned for Lent:
Wednesdays in Lent (February 21-March 21)
6:30 P.M. Lenten Potluck “Dinner Worship.” Bring a dish to pass, and we’ll eat, pray, converse, and learn around the dinner table together. This year’s theme will be “Digging Deeper Into the Lord’s Supper”.
[NOTE: FEB 21 DINNER WORSHIP CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.]
We walk with Jesus and his disciples, day by day, through the last week of his earthly life.
Monday-Friday, Time TBD A community lunch and study, presented by local pastors, focusing on the events of each day in Holy Week.
March 29, 7:00 P.M. Maundy Thursday worship (Jesus eats his last meal with his friends)
March 30, 7:00 P.M. Good Friday worship (Jesus is crucified)
April 1, 8:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. Festival Easter Worship (Jesus is raised from the dead!)
